Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. Leader of the Milliy Tiklanish party Alisher Qodirov stated that the state should support the needy, but cannot endlessly take responsibility for their well-being. According to him, a person can only change their life on their own.

The politician expressed this opinion after a meeting chaired by the president, dedicated to the results of the country's socio-economic development in the first half of the year.

Qodirov noted that in recent years, incomes and living standards in the country have noticeably increased. According to him, many citizens who used support programs for low-income families were able to improve their financial situation.

At the same time, the politician emphasized that there is still a part of the population that does not have jobs and needs social assistance.

“This layer is still lagging behind, and now it needs to be pulled up. How exactly to do this will be shown by the situation,” Qodirov wrote.

He also noted that state support has its limits.

“You can help those who do not appreciate what they have, but you cannot carry them on your shoulders. Thinking is something that a person can only change themselves,” the party leader said.

Recall that the unemployment rate in Uzbekistan continues to decline. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in the first quarter of 2026, the figure fell to 4.6% compared to 5.4% in the same period last year.
