Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. Issues related to housing renovation continue to spark active discussion among residents of Uzbekistan. One of the most common questions is whether the owner must be provided with a new apartment of the same size as the old house, and in what cases compensation can be expected.

First of all, it is important to understand that if the area of the old house is, for example, 100 square meters, this does not mean that the new housing must be exactly the same size. The basic principle of renovation is to provide equivalent housing — comparable in value and living conditions.

In practice, apartments in new residential complexes are built according to standard designs, so their area may differ from that of the old house.

If the proposed apartment turns out to be smaller, the parties can agree on compensation for the difference in value or choose another housing option.

If the new apartment is larger, various settlement options are possible. Depending on the terms of the agreement, this may include an additional payment for extra square meters, a discount, value equalization, or another mechanism agreed upon by the parties.

All conditions regarding the area of the new housing, the amount of possible compensation, additional payments, and other mutual obligations must be clearly stated in the agreement between the owner and the developer.

More details can be found in our VIDEO.
