According to the Tashkent city administration, 151 multi-apartment residential buildings and seven social facilities were put into operation in the Uzbek capital during the first six months of 2026.

As a result, more than 11,000 new apartments became available to residents over the half-year period, significantly boosting the city's housing stock.

Social infrastructure also expanded: three kindergartens and four other social facilities began operations, contributing to improved living conditions for the population.

The volume of construction and contracting work in Tashkent during this period reached 61.2 trillion soums. Compared to the same period last year, growth in the construction sector amounted to 9.9%.

The commissioning of new residential and social facilities indicates that the capital continues to develop as a modern metropolis.

Amid active construction, Uzbekistan is discussing the introduction of criminal liability for moving into unfinished buildings.
