In the Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions, officers from the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies have thwarted two drug trafficking incidents. A total of about 9 kilograms of banned substances were confiscated.

The first case occurred in the Termez district of Surkhandarya region. During operational activities on an agricultural field, law enforcement discovered 4 kilograms of hashish left by unknown individuals. The drug was seized, and an investigation is underway.

In the second incident, a 44-year-old resident of the Zaamin district was detained in Jizzakh. A search revealed a household bag containing 4.8 kilograms of cannabis. The banned substance was confiscated as material evidence.

Criminal cases have been initiated for both incidents. Investigators are currently identifying all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

Earlier, law enforcement prevented two drug-related crimes in the Khorezm and Namangan regions. In one case, nearly a kilogram of hashish was smuggled under the guise of chocolate, while in another, a large cannabis plantation was discovered.
