President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced on July 27 that a Center for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence Implementation in the Fuel and Energy Sector will be established under the Ministry of Energy.

Currently, 25,000 employees work at 'Hududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari' and 16,000 at 'Hududgaz'. According to government data, due to the lack of digital management, neither the electricity nor gas supply heads know what their employees are doing during the day.

The meeting highlighted that labor productivity is 1.5-2 times lower than in other countries, and the time to eliminate accidents is 3-4 times longer.

The new center will conduct a 'stress audit' of the 'production — transmission — distribution — delivery' chain, as well as supplies of coal, liquefied gas, and fuel oil. Based on this, several scenarios for sector development will be developed.

Additionally, a system will be created to manage each employee's daily work through digital algorithms. Data from automated accounting systems for electricity and natural gas (ASKUE and ASKUG) will be analyzed by AI, and a platform will be launched to detect suspicious changes.

For the 106,000 employees in the system, 10 key performance indicators (KPIs) will be established. The main criteria will include emergency and planned outages, losses, accounts receivable, capacity reserves, and the implementation of repair programs.
