In the Karaulbazar district of Bukhara region, inspectors stopped illegal fishing on Lake Khadicha. Three suspects were found with 118 fish, and the damage to nature was estimated at over 126 million soums.

The violators were discovered on the natural Lake Khadicha. According to the regional ecology department, the men were fishing without permits and using prohibited fishing gear.

During the inspection, authorities seized 118 illegally caught fish, including 47 carp and 71 Aral roach. Also confiscated as evidence were a rubber boat, nets, and other tackle.

A criminal case has been opened for illegal fishing. The regional ecology department said raids to identify poachers will continue.

Recall that Uzbekistan plans to increase fish production through new technologies and support for fish farms.
