Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AN Podrobno.uz. Uzbek wrestler Abdulaziz Kholmirzayev became the first medalist for the Uzbekistan national team at the U17 World Wrestling Championships in Baku, winning a bronze medal in the Greco-Roman style up to 80 kg category.

Other Uzbek athletes are also set to compete for medals in the coming bouts. Buned Khasanov will fight for a place in the final in the 51 kg category against Azerbaijani wrestler Abdurakhmon Khuseynli.

Bronze medal contenders include Afruzbek Ibragimov (45 kg), Sadriddin Tulkinboev (60 kg), and Mirjalol Shavkatov (92 kg).

The competition in Baku continues. Earlier, at the Asian U20 Championships in Thailand, Uzbek freestyle wrestlers secured two medals: one gold and one bronze.
