Specialists from the Traffic Management Center have calculated and configured synchronized traffic light operation at 13 intersections on Buyuk Ipak Yoli Street in Mirzo-Ulugbek district, on the section from Tura Buva Mosque to Salom Street. This was reported by the center's press service.

The 'Green Wave' system operates towards the city center in the morning and in the opposite direction in the evening.

Thanks to the synchronization, travel time on the section has been significantly reduced. From Tura Buva Mosque to Salom Street, the average travel time decreased from 8.5 to 6 minutes, a 29% reduction.

In the opposite direction, from Salom Street to Tura Buva Mosque, travel time decreased from 10 to 8 minutes, a 20% reduction.

'For the effective operation of the Green Wave, drivers must follow traffic rules and the established speed limit. When driving on this section at 40–60 km/h, most intersections can be passed almost without stopping at red lights,' the statement said.

Currently, calculations and projects are being developed to implement the Green Wave system on other streets in Tashkent equipped with smart traffic lights.
