Representatives of Karakalpakstan discussed with Israeli experts the introduction of innovative solutions for arid regions and adaptation to climate change. The parties agreed to prepare a memorandum on joint projects.

The online meeting was attended by the leadership of the Israeli DeserTech and Climate Innovation Center, which specializes in developing technologies for regions with water scarcity and desertification.

The negotiations involved representatives of Karakalpakstan, including specialists in ecology and education, as well as staff from the Uzbek embassy in Israel.

The Israeli side presented its developments and experience in creating innovative solutions for regions suffering from water shortages, desertification, and the effects of climate change.

In turn, Karakalpakstan representatives spoke about current projects to improve the environmental situation, develop science, and reduce climate risks in the region.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in cooperation and agreed to begin preparing a trilateral memorandum that will serve as a basis for further joint projects.

Central Asia is experiencing an unprecedented water deficit due to a five-year drought. The period from 2021 to 2025 has been the warmest for the region since 1981, and soil moisture has reached historical lows.
