The reserve fund of the Andijan regional budget for 2026 has allocated 730 million soums (approximately $60,000) for the preparation and promotion of the 'Andijan Polka' dance for inclusion in the Guinness World Records.

The decision was reportedly made based on a memo from the head of the regional khokimiyat secretariat, E. Kholmirzaev, and an appeal from the regional culture department.

In late June, a mass event 'Andijan Polka' was held in Andijan, where thousands of citizens performed the famous dance, after which it was officially entered into the Guinness World Records.

Unfortunately, the event was also marred by the death of a 15-year-old teenager who was supposed to participate in the mass dance, but the car carrying schoolchildren was involved in a traffic accident.
