On July 31, an earthquake was recorded in Tashkent city and the Tashkent region, according to the Seismological Monitoring Center. The tremor occurred in the early morning hours and was felt by residents of the capital.

The epicenter was located 11 kilometers northwest of Tashkent, in the Zangiota district. The earthquake had a magnitude of 2.8 and a depth of 5 kilometers, making it a relatively shallow event that amplified surface shaking.

Seismologists reported that the intensity reached 2 points at the epicenter and up to 3 points in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent. This means the tremors were particularly noticeable to residents living in high-rise buildings.

No casualties or significant damage have been reported. Emergency services are monitoring the situation and urging the public to remain calm.

Experts note that such weak earthquakes are common in the region and represent regular seismic activity. Residents are advised to rely only on official sources of information and avoid panic.
