A Chevrolet Tracker carrying 21 children to a private kindergarten crashed in the Khodjaabad district of Andijan region, Uzbekistan. The accident occurred on February 21 on the Khodjaabad-Babur highway.

According to court materials, the 40-year-old female driver lost control after being frightened by an overtaking car. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a concrete lighting pole.

At the time of the crash, 21 children were in the car's cabin and trunk. Eight children sustained injuries of varying severity. One 6-year-old girl with severe injuries was hospitalized in intensive care, where she died four days later despite medical efforts.

During the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted her guilt, expressed remorse, and stated that she had placed children in the trunk due to lack of space. She also noted that she is a group 2 disabled person and asked the court for leniency.

The criminal court of Khodjaabad district found the woman guilty under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. She was sentenced to 3 years of restricted freedom and deprived of the right to drive vehicles for 2 years.
