Residents of five districts in Tashkent will be left without cold water for nearly a day. The shutdown will take place from 10:00 on August 3 to 10:00 on August 4, affecting specific areas in Mirzo Ulugbek, Yashnabad, Mirabad, Chilanzar, and Yakkasaray districts.

During this period, 22 mahallas, 884 apartment buildings, 7,006 private houses, 242 state and social institutions, as well as 33,017 residents will temporarily lose access to centralized water supply. This is a significant number of people who will have to seek alternative sources of water.

To mitigate the inconvenience, drinking water will be delivered by tanker trucks. The trucks will start operating from 11:00 according to an approved schedule. Water will be supplied to mahallas, residential areas, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, universities, government agencies, diplomatic missions, and other facilities.

The city water utility explained that the shutdown is due to planned preventive maintenance at the water distribution facility in Mirzo Ulugbek district. During this time, specialists will replace five main valves, which will help normalize pressure in the networks, increase the reliability of the water supply system, and reduce the risk of accidents.

Residents are advised to stock up on the necessary amount of drinking water in advance. The full list of addresses where water delivery will be organized is published on the city water utility's website.
