Uzbekistan's population grew by more than 373,000 people in the first six months of 2026, according to the National Statistics Committee. From January to June, 373,400 live births were registered across the country.

The highest birth rates were recorded in three regions. Samarkand region leads with 46,400 newborns, followed by Fergana region with 41,700, and Kashkadarya with 41,200.

Significant numbers were also registered in Surkhandarya (35,500), Andijan (nearly 33,000), and Namangan (31,400) regions.

Tashkent region saw over 29,000 births, while the capital city recorded 27,400.

The lowest figures were in Karakalpakstan (15,900), Navoi (10,700), and Syrdarya (9,300) regions.

For comparison, nearly 880,000 babies were born in the country in the previous year.
