Tashkent continues to expand its 'Green Wave' traffic management system, with a new section of the Small Ring Road now synchronized. The city's Traffic Management Center announced the update.

The new segment stretches 1.7 kilometers from Bogibuston Street to Chilonzor Metro Station. Specialists synchronized five traffic lights along this route to allow vehicles to move with fewer stops.

The system operates 24/7 in both directions. According to the Center, drivers previously took about five minutes to traverse this stretch. Now, the average travel time is 2 minutes and 45 seconds — a savings of approximately 45%.

At speeds of 40–60 kilometers per hour, motorists can pass through several intersections almost without stopping.

Earlier, a similar system was launched on Buyuk Ipak Yoli Street, where traffic lights at 13 intersections were synchronized. Currently, the 'Green Wave' operates on two sections totaling 5.7 kilometers, covering 18 regulated intersections. On average, travel time across these routes has been reduced by about one-third.

The Center noted that it continues to calculate and implement the system on other streets of Tashkent to make traffic faster and more convenient.
