In the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, officers of the State Security Service (SGB) have detained two medical workers suspected of corruption. As reported by the SGB press service, a 30-year-old laboratory assistant at a district AIDS center promised a citizen that he could arrange, through familiar officials, a favorable expert conclusion. He was caught red-handed while receiving the $3,000.

During further operational measures, the head of the district department of the Scientific-Practical Center of Forensic Medical Examination was also detained. According to the investigation, he received $2,500 from the laboratory assistant out of that amount.
