An investigation by the Tashkent City Department of Ecology and Climate Change has revealed that 80 trees were illegally destroyed in the Jarariq area of the Shaykhantakhur district. The findings were made public following an official inquiry.

The probe established that a local resident, identified as S.D., hired workers to illegally cut down 45 fruit and ornamental trees and transplanted 35 tree saplings to the Yangi Darkhon neighborhood in the Yangihayot district, violating established procedures.

For this offense, the individual was fined 10.3 million soums under Part 1 of Article 79 of the Administrative Liability Code. The damage caused to nature was calculated at 49.9 million soums, in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 464.

According to the department, the incident shown in a video circulating on social media occurred in late May 2026. The investigation revealed that the area actually contained 112 registered trees in the green.tashkent.uz database, contrary to the claim of 400 trees.

Additionally, on June 24, a monitoring event by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change found that three more trees had been cut down at the base on the premises of Golden Art House LLC. The collected documents have been submitted to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
