Uzbekistan has canceled a tender announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, with an initial value of 587.2 million soums. The competition was held to select a company to provide event organization services.

An inspection by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights revealed violations of Article 29 of the Law on Competition. The procedure was found to contain actions that could lead to restriction of competition among participants.

The committee sent a demand to the ministry to eliminate the violations. Subsequently, the ministry canceled the procurement results in accordance with established procedures. The committee noted that this decision would ensure transparent spending of state funds and equal conditions for entrepreneurs.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan proposed introducing integrity ratings and artificial intelligence tools to detect violations in the public procurement system. These measures are aimed at increasing efficiency and combating corruption in this area.

This case highlights the strengthening of control over public procurement in the country. Experts note that such inspections and cancellations contribute to more targeted use of budget funds and the creation of a healthy competitive environment.
