Today, August 6, a major fire broke out in a two-story shopping complex located in the Eshonguzar area of Zangiota district, Tashkent region. The fire initially started in one of the stores and then spread to neighboring retail outlets.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire report was received at 12:29. Several fire and rescue crews promptly arrived at the scene.

It was noted that the fire was contained at 13:48 and fully extinguished at 14:09. According to preliminary data from the Ministry, 400 square meters of store space were damaged. There were no casualties.

A correspondent of the newspaper, who arrived at the scene at approximately 20:00, witnessed firefighters still inspecting the buildings and helping to clear the debris.

Smoke was still coming from some rooms, and a sharp burning smell lingered in the air. After a while, the smoke stopped. On the ground lay goods that had been hastily removed from the stores and collected rubbish.

According to one of the sellers, the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault on the upper floor.

The block, housing more than ten stores, is located along the Tashkent Ring Road, near the district's specialized school. It sold furniture, sports equipment, mobile phone accessories, gifts, and children's goods.

About 20 sellers were at the scene. Some said they were waiting for the owners of the goods. One woman said she was waiting for her husband to take away part of the goods.

According to a young man who works as a seller in a small kiosk behind the stores, during the firefighting efforts they distributed free drinking water to the affected store employees and firefighters.
