A tragic road accident occurred on August 6 in the Nurobod district of Uzbekistan's Samarkand region, involving a MAN-branded cargo truck. According to the regional traffic safety department, a fire suddenly broke out in the cabin of the truck while it was in motion.

The incident took place at approximately 4:00 PM local time on the 35th kilometer of the A-378 highway, which runs through the Mehnatkash neighborhood along the Samarkand-Qashqadaryo route. The driver attempted to stop the vehicle but lost control.

The truck subsequently collided with a concrete barrier on the left side of the road and overturned. The driver sustained severe injuries and died at the scene before emergency services could arrive.

The investigative department of the Nurobod district internal affairs office has launched a criminal case into the incident. Forensic examinations have been ordered to determine the exact cause of the fire.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially released. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in the region, especially following a similar fatal crash in the Fergana Valley earlier, where a collision between a car and a truck claimed two lives.

Local authorities have urged drivers to conduct regular vehicle maintenance and remain vigilant, as investigations continue to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
