Uzbekistan has developed an innovative interceptor drone named 'Shunkor-88' designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles. The project was created by a team led by Ismailov Bilolkhon as part of the 'Engineers of the Future' competition.

According to the developers, the 'Shunkor-88' can reach speeds of up to 450 kilometers per hour and neutralize dangerous drones at distances ranging from 8 to 10 kilometers. The drone is intended for protecting airspace.

One of the key advantages of the new development is its cost. For comparison, a single air defense missile can cost between $2 and $5 million. Meanwhile, producing such a drone is estimated at approximately $20,000 to $50,000.

The authors believe that such technologies will become an affordable alternative and help advance domestic engineering solutions.

Earlier, the winner of the 'Engineers of the Future' festival, Ayzada Asanova, was awarded a Volkswagen electric car.
