Uzbekistan is making significant strides in artificial intelligence education, with over 1.5 million users having received AI certificates, according to a presentation delivered to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the results and future tasks for developing the country's AI ecosystem.
Beyond mass training, specialized courses have been completed by 900 executives, more than 3,000 civil servants, 1,000 bank employees, and 200 AI advisors. These efforts aim to build a skilled workforce for the emerging technological sector.
For the next two years, the government has set a goal to implement the 'Five Million AI Leaders' project, which involves developing modern educational materials for schoolchildren, students, teachers, and the general public.
Regional development is also underway, with industry hackathons and competitions held in Nukus, Samarkand, Termez, Bukhara, Fergana, Andijan, Gulistan, and Jizzakh to foster new ideas and support projects in the field.
These initiatives are part of Uzbekistan's broader strategy to transition to a digital economy and strengthen its AI ecosystem, positioning the country as a regional leader in technology education.
