On August 10, a drone attack by Ukrainian forces targeted the city of Nizhnekamsk in Russia's Tatarstan Republic, resulting in the deaths of 8 citizens of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Earlier reports indicated that 7 Uzbek citizens were among the 13 killed, but the number has now risen to 8. All the deceased were working as construction workers at a local construction company.

According to the Ministry, several other Uzbek citizens were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Their condition is reported as stable, though some remain in serious condition.

Following a directive from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a government commission was established, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov. The commission includes heads of various ministries and agencies, tasked with providing necessary assistance to the affected individuals, repatriating the bodies of the deceased to Uzbekistan, and offering comprehensive support to their families.

A special working group comprising representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Migration Agency, and other relevant bodies has been dispatched to Russia. They are on the ground assessing the situation and taking necessary measures.

Officials from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan and the Migration Agency are currently in Nizhnekamsk. They are in constant contact with Russian authorities, working to clarify the lists of the deceased and injured.
