The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has approved a new government service that allows citizens to obtain original personal documents stored in state archives after the liquidation of organizations. Previously, this process required a personal visit to the archive, which was often time-consuming and inconvenient.
Under the new procedure, citizens can submit an application through State Service Centers or electronically via the unified portal of interactive government services my.gov.uz. This eliminates the need for a personal visit to the archive, streamlining the process and saving time for applicants.
The service is available to citizens whose documents were kept in the archive of a liquidated organization. If the document owner has passed away, their close relatives — parents, spouse, or children — are also eligible to apply for the documents.
To obtain a document, applicants must fill out a request form, providing their personal details, information about any surname or name changes, passport data and PINFL, contact information, as well as details about the organization where the person worked or the educational institution they attended. Additionally, they must specify which document is presumably stored in the archive.
The found document can be collected directly at the state archive. Alternatively, at the applicant's request, it can be delivered to a specified address via courier service, which is particularly convenient for those living in other cities.
Applications are reviewed within 10 business days. After checking the archival materials, the citizen will be notified via the information and communication system whether the required document has been found.
The service fee is set at 1 BCA (basic calculation amount) — currently 412,000 soums, and from September 1, it will be 440,000 soums. Payment is made when submitting the application.
It is recommended to specify the organization where the person worked or studied as accurately as possible when submitting the application. This will speed up the archival search and increase the likelihood of finding the document.
The new service is expected to simplify the process of obtaining documents that were previously difficult to locate after the liquidation of organizations. Citizens now have a unified application procedure, a specific review period, and the option to apply online.
Citizens are encouraged to report any illegal actions in state archives to the hotline of the "Uzarchive" Agency at 55-50-301-50 or via @antikor_archive_bot.
Earlier, a service was launched on my.gov.uz allowing registration at the place of residence or stay in housing under arrest or a ban on registration actions.
