Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. The Supreme Court of Uzbekistan has provided an official explanation for the demolition of a residential house in the Denau district of the Surkhandarya region. Earlier, a video circulated on social media showing enforcement officers breaking down the door of the house.

According to the Supreme Court's press service, the court decision concerns citizens Abdusalom Akhmadov and Nasiba Charieva. They illegally constructed a house and outbuildings on an irrigated agricultural plot owned by the enterprise 'Rahmon Taraqqiyot Omad'.

Irrigated lands are state property and have strategic importance for food security. They cannot be transferred into private ownership and are under special legal protection.

The citizens were repeatedly warned about the illegality of their actions by representatives of cadastral authorities, the mahalla, and land management services. However, construction continued. The court ordered the demolition of the structures at the defendants' expense and the restoration of the plot to its original condition. This measure was applied as a last resort after other methods failed to resolve the violation.

In March 2026, the cassation instance suspended the execution of the decision for humanitarian reasons. The applicants were given nearly two years to voluntarily eliminate the violation. Nasiba Charieva was also brought to criminal responsibility for illegal land seizure. The Supreme Court reminded that unauthorized construction on irrigated agricultural lands entails legal consequences.
