Installation of drinking water devices has begun in 280 schools in Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. The devices will be connected to water treatment systems as part of the 'Clean Drinking Water' project.

In the previous phase, 48 secondary schools in 12 districts of Karakalpakstan were equipped with modern water treatment systems. Now, all 280 educational institutions participating in the project have such systems installed. The connection of drinking water devices will allow students to access purified water directly at their schools.

Simultaneously, training is being conducted for teachers and other staff. All project schools have organized workshops on the operation of water treatment systems, compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements, responsible water consumption, and equipment maintenance.

The foundation noted that the initiative also contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals – 'Quality Education' and 'Clean Water and Sanitation'.

Earlier, it was reported that a tourist complex with yurts, a beach, dining areas, and fishing spots is planned in Karakalpakstan. Guests will also be offered off-road safari tours, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities.
