Uzbekistan is introducing new rules for transport benefits for war participants and invalids, persons equated to them, and those affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Starting October 1, 2026, they will be able to travel free of charge or with a 50% discount.

The benefit will apply to air travel, railway transport, and intercity buses. Eligibility will be verified through the information system of the National Agency for Social Protection. No additional certificates are required—only an ID card or biometric passport.

Beneficiaries will have specific ticket categories: economy class on airplanes, and economy, platzkart, or coupe on trains. The costs of providing these transport benefits will be compensated by the National Agency for Social Protection from the state budget.

Another innovation will take effect on January 1, 2027: discounted or free tickets for planes, trains, and intercity buses can be purchased through the Baraka social card mobile app. This will make the process more convenient and accessible.

For reference: in 2025, nearly 50,000 people received discounted tickets worth 4.3 billion soums. Additionally, Uzbekistan will simplify the process for 11 beneficiary categories to obtain transport benefits—without paper vouchers, and in the future, via the mobile app.
