Drivers at the Aktepa Square intersection in Tashkent no longer need to make unnecessary U-turns. New left-turn lanes allow motorists to shorten their route by nearly 600 meters, saving up to 4 minutes during regular hours and up to 10 minutes during peak traffic.

Vehicles coming from Lutfly Street heading toward Nurafshon and Seoul Streets can now turn left directly at the traffic light. Previously, drivers had to go to Muqimi Street and perform a U-turn.

A similar option is now available for cars approaching from Samarkand Darvoza. To reach Muqimi and Lutfly Streets, drivers no longer need to travel to Nurafshon Street and turn around. The maneuver can now be done right at the intersection.

The new lanes are expected to speed up traffic and reduce congestion that previously occurred due to U-turns on Nurafshon and Muqimi Streets. This is especially beneficial during rush hours when every minute counts.

To enhance safety and convenience for pedestrians, the intersection has been equipped with crosswalks and dedicated traffic signals. This reduces the risk of accidents and improves overall traffic flow.

As a result, drivers now have a shorter route, and the intersection has a more efficient layout without unnecessary U-turns. Earlier, a similar measure was implemented on Abdulla Qodiriy Street in Tashkent.
