A visitor to the Tashkent Zoo has been identified and held administratively liable for throwing stones at a lion and jaguars. According to the zoo's press service, the man was fined 2.8 million soums under Part 1 of Article 111 of Uzbekistan's Code of Administrative Liability (cruel treatment of animals).

This violation entails a fine ranging from 7 to 10 times the base calculation value (BCV). The incident occurred on August 13, when a visitor began throwing stones at a lion named Alex and jaguars.

Because the jaguar enclosure was open, the stones hit the animals. The man's child began to imitate his actions. After the stones hit their target, the visitor applauded his own actions, drawing criticism from other visitors.

The zoo administration reminded that animals are protected by law and urged citizens to immediately report any cruel or inappropriate treatment of animals by calling +998 71 289 16 01.

In July, a man and a girl at the Tashkent Zoo sprayed water from their mouths at a pair of white lions named Johnny and Naomi. The man reacted sharply to a passerby's reprimand but later apologized. The zoo administration emphasized that adults should set a proper example for children.
