In the Izboskan district of the Andijan region, law enforcement officers detained a man who was attempting to sell more than 11 kilograms of marijuana.

According to authorities, the man was arrested at a cemetery while selling the drugs for 6 million soums. It was also revealed that he had been seeking buyers through social media, sending them videos of the product.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 6 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code (“Illegal trafficking of narcotics in large quantities”). The penalty for this offense ranges from 15 to 20 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, it was reported that a 24-year-old resident of the Urta Chirchik district was detained at Tashkent airport while attempting to smuggle 978 grams of cannabis oil and about 500 grams of psychoactive mushrooms from Bangkok.
