Uzbekistan's national carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, has unveiled details about a new full-flight simulator (FFS) for the Boeing 787-9. The complex, to be located at the airline's training center, will be the first equipment of this level in all of Central Asia.

The simulator will be developed by Canada's CAE, a global leader in aviation training systems. The equipment will receive the highest certification category (Level D), guaranteeing 100% accuracy in recreating the cockpit, all systems, and flight characteristics of the aircraft.

The launch of the simulator will allow Uzbekistan Airways to conduct the full cycle of pilot training and retraining within the country, elevating national aviation education to a new level. Previously, flight crews had to be sent abroad for this purpose — the nearest similar complex is located in Turkey.

The acquisition of the simulator is part of a large-scale contract with Boeing for the supply of 22 Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with deliveries starting in 2031.

Symbolically, the project details have been revealed in the year marking the 10th anniversary of the Dreamliner's operation by the national carrier.

The first Boeing 787-8 arrived in Tashkent on August 31, 2016, and by summer 2017, Uzbekistan Airways had successfully completed its first non-stop flight to New York on this aircraft. Today, the company's fleet includes six such aircraft.

The exact delivery timeline for the simulator to Tashkent and its commissioning will be announced by the airline at a later date.
