A two-day forum of writers from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, titled "Spiritual Heritage of the Turkic World: Literature as a Dialogue of Epochs and Generations," is being held in Tashkent and the Tashkent region on September 2-3. The event is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, and the 585th anniversary of Alisher Navoi.

The first day of the forum began at School No. 34 named after Rakhmetolla Raimkulov in the village of Koramanas, Bostanlyk district. The program included the First Bell ceremony, the opening of a renovated library and a coworking center. Books were donated to the school by the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Interethnic Relations, and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

The forum is attended by advisors to the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, Khairiddin Sultanov and Malik Otarbayev, Minister of Preschool and School Education Ezzozkhon Karimova, Kazakhstan's Ambassador Yeraly Tugzhanov, heads of writers' unions from both countries, and representatives of the creative intelligentsia. Participants are discussing the development of literary ties, the shared spiritual heritage of Turkic peoples, and the role of literature in intergenerational dialogue.

Earlier, it was reported that on September 6, the first permanent Center for Contemporary Art will open in Tashkent, which will also host literature-related events.
