Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. In the first half of 2026, commercial banks in Uzbekistan issued concessional education loans totaling 115.9 billion soums.

A total of 8,946 students benefited from this financial support, reflecting the government's ongoing efforts to expand access to higher education for the country's youth.

The bulk of the allocated funds was directed toward supporting women. Specifically, 89.4 billion soums, or 77.1% of the total lending volume, was granted to 7,098 female students.

This emphasis on female support underscores the authorities' commitment to promoting gender equality in education and fostering professional development opportunities for women. The remaining funds were distributed among other student categories.

It is worth noting that concessional education loans serve as a vital financial instrument for pursuing higher education in Uzbekistan. Interest rates are set on favorable terms, and repayment periods can be extended based on students' circumstances.
