The Tashkent Center for Traffic Management (CTM) has for the first time published daily traffic statistics for the capital. According to the center, this practice will now become regular.

According to the data, on September 4, a total of 1,502,057 vehicles passed through the streets and roads of the capital. This figure is 14,807 units (+1%) higher than on September 3, when 1,487,250 vehicles were recorded.

During the day, 1,670 buses operated on 170 routes, carrying 1,228,158 passengers. The Tashkent Metro served 862,053 passengers.

According to the monitoring of the CTM's Situation Center, during peak hours, congestion levels reached 7 points at 6 intersections, and exceeded 7 points at 1 intersection.

In areas with high congestion, traffic light schedules were adjusted, and the duration of green lights was extended in necessary directions. Traffic police officers were deployed to regulate movement at problematic intersections.

During the day, 4,751 traffic violations were recorded. 22 road accidents were registered, resulting in 4 people suffering serious injuries.

It is worth noting that such statistics for Tashkent and Uzbekistan have never been published before. The center reports that this practice will be ongoing.
