In the Bagdad district of Fergana region, a 20-year-old man and his peer killed his grandmother, robbed her house, and set the home on fire along with the victim's body to conceal evidence. The criminal court of Buvaydin district sentenced the perpetrators to 17 and 16 years in prison.

According to case materials, the grandson knew his grandmother kept large sums of money and valuables in her home. Two days before the crime, he contacted an acquaintance working in Tashkent and invited him to take part in the robbery.

The accomplices entered the house while the owner was away and began searching for money. At that moment, the woman unexpectedly returned and tried to resist, after which the grandson stabbed her in the chest with a kitchen knife.

The victim lost consciousness from the severe wound and died. The attackers seized a gold chain, earrings, a car monitor, and 2 million soums before fleeing the scene.

Later, the grandson returned to cover up the crime. At a gas station, he bought 10 liters of petrol, entered his grandmother's house at night, doused the rooms and the body with fuel, and then started a fire.

The court found the grandson guilty under Articles 97 (premeditated murder), 169 (theft), and 173 (intentional destruction or damage to property) of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 17 years in prison. His accomplice was sentenced to 16 years for murder and theft.
