Uzbekistan's U-17 women's national team will begin defending their Central Asian championship title on September 15. The CAFA U-17 Women’s Championship will be held in Tashkent and will run until September 19.

The teams of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan will compete alongside Uzbekistan for the trophy. The U-17 national team will be led by Makhliyo Sarikova in the home tournament.

For the Uzbekistan team, the competition will be an opportunity to retain the championship title. Last year, the team won the CAFA U-17 Women’s Championship without a single defeat: the footballers beat Iran and Tajikistan 1:0, and their match against Kyrgyzstan ended in a goalless draw. Based on the results of three matches, the Uzbek team took first place.

Earlier, the Uzbekistan U-20 women's team also won the CAFA tournament. In the decisive match, the team crushed Tajikistan 7:0 and finished the competition without defeats.
