Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A new system called InfoCards has been launched in Uzbekistan, allowing users to quickly find out who blocked their bank card and for what reason.
The information exchange system InfoCards was introduced by the Central Bank, commercial banks, payment organizations, and payment system operators. The system enables banks to quickly determine which law enforcement agency blocked the card, when, and for what reason.
Previously, this required contacting the Central Bank. Now the procedure is simpler: cardholders only need to contact their servicing bank. Bank employees will use InfoCards to obtain the necessary information and explain to the client why the card was blocked.
As a reminder, as of August 1, 2026, the number of bank cards in circulation in Uzbekistan reached 75.7 million. Since the beginning of the year, this figure has grown by 7.4 million, or 10.9%.
