On September 15, Tashkent's bus system registered a record daily passenger flow, according to the press service of the city's Main Transport Department. A total of 1,520,113 passengers used the capital's public buses over the course of the day.

This figure marks the highest daily ridership ever recorded for the bus network and signals a sharp increase in demand for public transportation. Officials attribute the surge to improved service quality and growing public confidence in the bus system.

The record comes just one day after the Tashkent Metro also set a new high: on September 14, the subway carried 1,165,550 passengers. The back-to-back records highlight a dramatic rise in the use of public transit across the capital.

"Choosing public transport is a contribution to relieving the capital's roads, preserving a clean environment, and saving time," the department stated. Authorities emphasized that higher ridership helps reduce traffic congestion and lowers the city's environmental footprint.

However, the surge also places additional strain on infrastructure. Experts note the need to expand the bus fleet and increase service frequency to maintain comfort and safety. City officials say they plan to further modernize the transport system to accommodate the growing passenger flow.
