Akmal Ro‘ziqulovich Jumanazarov has been appointed Chairman of the Defense Industry Committee under the Cabinet of Ministers. This was reported by Yuz.uz. Until now, the agency operated as the Defense Industry Agency. No official information has been released regarding its transfer to the government structure.

Prior to the reorganization, the agency was headed by Mansurjon Ibodullayev. The new appointment may be aimed at further improving the management system in the defense industry. Akmal Jumanazarov's appointment to this position is linked to his many years of experience in public service.

According to available data, since February 2024, Akmal Jumanazarov had been heading the Agency for Technical Regulation. In 2024, this agency was transferred to the subordination of the Cabinet of Ministers. This indicates his active involvement in the reform processes of government structures.

Previously, Jumanazarov served as Deputy Minister of Energy for Electricity and Coal Industry. He also headed the Department of the Cabinet of Ministers for Geology, Energy, Industry, and Development of Basic Sectors. This experience could be an important factor in leading such a key area as the defense industry.
