Uzbekistan aims to increase the number of people regularly playing tennis to 3,000 and the number of coaches to 200 by 2030. The announcement was made during a press conference in Tashkent. The country also intends to enter the top 5 Asian nations in terms of tennis development.

To achieve these goals, starting from October 1, 2026, a series of international and national competitions will be held on a regular basis. These include tournaments under the auspices of the ATP, WTA, and ITF, as well as the Uzbekistan Cup and the national championship for youth, juniors, and adults.

In addition, an international Uzbekistan Open tournament will be held among adult athletes, and ATP Challenger series events for men. These competitions will provide local tennis players and coaches with opportunities to gain international experience.

A separate task has been set to include tennis among promising sports areas. This indicates that the government will pay more attention to the sport and attract investments in the future.
