Tashkent authorities have issued 14,050 administrative fines against passengers who failed to pay for public transport between September 1 and 22, according to the Ministry of Transport. This figure represents an increase of 8,494 cases, or 153%, compared to the entire month of August.

The enforcement and awareness campaign is being carried out by specialists from the state institution “Monitoring and Control of Passenger Transport in Tashkent.” Their efforts aim to strengthen payment discipline and ensure order on all city routes.

The sharp rise in fines suggests a significant intensification of fare collection controls across the capital’s buses, metro, and other public transit. Officials say the measures are part of a broader push to reduce revenue losses and improve service quality.

Passengers are urged to use valid tickets or transit cards to avoid penalties. The Ministry of Transport indicated that such inspections will continue, and violators will face administrative liability under current regulations.
