The head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Said Mirziyoyeva, has issued a sharp statement regarding the tragedy in Namangan. According to her, the incident has shocked society, and those responsible must face the harshest possible punishment.

"I was informed about the tragedy that occurred in Namangan. Upon learning of it, I felt genuine anger. In my opinion, such monstrous crimes should be punishable by death. Since the current law does not provide for it, we are preparing proposals to amend the legislation in order to maximally toughen liability," Said Mirziyoyeva stated.

She emphasized that not only the direct perpetrator but also all individuals who showed negligence and failed to ensure the child's safety must be held accountable. "The criminal will face the harshest punishment. As well as all those who allowed this, showed negligence, and failed to protect the child," she added.

Recall that earlier it was reported that the warehouse manager of a kindergarten in the Namangan region is suspected of sexual violence against a 5-year-old girl. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan — rape of a person under 14 years of age. The suspect is in custody, and an investigation is ongoing. The Children's Ombudsman has taken the case under control.

Later it became known that the suspect is also charged under Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code — threat of murder or use of violence. Specialists from the "Inson" social services center are providing psychological, medical, and legal assistance to the girl and her mother. The child is with her parents under their care.

The Children's Ombudsman earlier urged the media and social media users not to disseminate unconfirmed information that could violate the rights, honor, and dignity of the affected child.
