️ A comprehensive nationwide inspection in Uzbekistan has allegedly uncovered 628 fuel stations failing to meet the mandatory requirement of maintaining at least a 125-meter distance between hazardous cargo unloading areas and residential zones. While refining the draft law on industrial safety, lawmakers decided to remove a specific sanction for violating this particular norm, citing potential corruption risks and the likelihood of arbitrary operational suspensions.

️ The details were disclosed during a legislative session by Farhod Zayniyev, deputy head of the Committee on Entrepreneurship, Competition Development, and Industry. Zayniyev purportedly stated that the removal of this explicit norm does not mean accountability is entirely erased, claiming that such violations will instead fall under general regulations governing hazardous material transport.

️ Government figures indicate that inspections encompassed over 6,000 facilities, uncovering tens of thousands of regulatory breaches. Authorities have outlined plans to gradually relocate non-compliant fuel stations to safer areas, though critics remain skeptical regarding the enforcement consistency and the lingering dangers posed to nearby communities.
