In Tashkent, a passenger who failed to pay the bus fare, refused to comply with lawful demands of inspectors, and caused a conflict has been sentenced to administrative arrest. The Ministry of Transport reported this.

According to the ministry, on August 15, during a raid in the Chilanzar district, citizen M. M. was asked by inspectors to provide a document confirming fare payment when exiting the bus. However, the passenger gave various excuses, violated public conduct rules, and refused to comply with the inspector's demands.

While establishing the citizen's identity, he caused a scandal and attempted to use force against the inspector. This incident was recorded on the inspector's body camera, the report says.

On September 24, at an open court hearing in the Chilanzar District Court for Criminal Cases, M. M. was sentenced to 3 days of administrative arrest.

Inspectors of the "Tashkent City Passenger Transport Monitoring and Control" DM are representatives of authority. Attacking them, threatening violence, or insulting them entails liability under the law, the ministry reminded.

For reference, from September 1, passengers must pay the fare upon boarding the bus. Otherwise, the passenger is considered to be traveling without a ticket, and a fine (44,000 soums) is applied under Part 5 of Article 144 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

Inspectors now also monitor fare payment inside the bus, whereas previously they conducted checks at stops. Inspector Ibrohimjon Yusupov told Gazeta about how this process is carried out.
