Prominent writer, journalist, and screenwriter Rahmat Fayziyev was born on October 10, 1918, in the city of Tashkent. After graduating from secondary school, he initially studied at the Electromechanical Technical School, but eventually found his true calling in literature and publicism. He began his career in journalism, working for major print publications such as 'Lenin uchquni' (now 'Tong yulduzi'), 'Yosh leninchi' (now 'Turkiston'), and 'Qizil Ozbekiston' (now 'Ozbekiston ovozi'), as well as actively collaborating with the Writers' Union.
His professional involvement in the literary sphere continued as he served in editorial positions for the 'Sharq yulduzi' magazine between 1951 and 1954, and later for the 'Ozbekiston madaniyati' newspaper from 1957 to 1959. Furthermore, Fayziyev significantly contributed to the national film industry by working as the chief editor of the script and editorial board at the 'Uzbekfilm' film studio, where he guided and mentored many emerging talents.
Fayziyev's literary journey flourished following the publication of his debut short story 'Toy taraddudi' in 1948, which was followed by collections such as 'Toyona', 'Ulgayish', and 'Birinchi bahor'. His books, including 'Sahroga bahor keldi' and 'Ipak parda', received widespread acclaim from readers. He cemented his legacy in national culture by penning the screenplays for iconic Uzbek films such as 'You Are Not an Orphan' ('Sen yetim emassan') and 'Yor-yor', later releasing his comprehensive novel 'Hazrati Inson' in 1969.
The esteemed author passed away on November 18, 1988, leaving behind an enduring legacy that continues to influence contemporary Uzbek literature and cinema. In commemoration of his contributions, cultural platforms have highlighted his profound works and prepared specialized educational tests based on his literary legacy.
