In a notable regional cultural event, the feature film 'Vata' by Uzbek director Rashid Malikov has reportedly secured the main fiction film award at the 10th anniversary 'Eurasian Bridge' International Film Festival. The anniversary edition of the event was held for the first time in Moscow, gathering cinematic works from fourteen different countries across multiple venues.

The narrative of 'Vata' centers on a woman navigating a succession of severe life trials while attempting to discover a renewed purpose for her existence. Jury member Maria Borodyanskaya supposedly stated that the motion picture addresses several critical social themes that resonate with audiences globally, asserting that the distinction will assist the production in reaching a wider viewership.

The competitive entries were evaluated by an international panel headed by Uzbek filmmaker Yusup Razykov. Previously, the film had already attained recognition for the best screenplay at a cinematic event in Sochi. Following the conclusion of screenings in the Russian capital, the festival organizers reportedly intend to extend the program to Crimea under an echo format.
