Authorities in Uzbekistan are preparing to launch a large-scale nationwide survey designed to assess the living conditions and overall welfare of women and children across the country. The monitoring initiative, aimed at identifying vulnerable sectors that require additional targeted support, is scheduled to take place between 2027 and 2028 in cooperation with the National Committee on Statistics and UNICEF.
Preparatory work is allegedly set to begin as early as October 2026, during which specialists will establish household sampling frameworks, draft detailed questionnaires, train interviewers, and allocate budgetary resources. The primary survey phase is expected to commence in November 2027, utilizing digital tablet devices for direct, in-person data collection in households.
The fieldwork phase is projected to wrap up by March 2028, with the comprehensive national report slated for completion by June and public release anticipated in July. An interdepartmental council will reportedly oversee the entire process, managing quality control and approving financial frameworks, with funding drawn from the state budget and international donors.
Officials have promised strict confidentiality, asserting that all gathered personal and medical records will remain protected and used exclusively for statistical objectives. Following the final publication, relevant ministries are expected to formulate policy improvement proposals for the Cabinet of Ministers by November 2028.
