President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the sidelines of the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia. The parties focused on evaluating the current progress and future horizons of strategic cooperation between the two nations.

At the beginning of the talks, the leaders reportedly emphasized that regular high-level contacts have successfully propelled bilateral relations to a new qualitative stage. It was stated that Qatari companies are currently engaged in active operations across priority sectors such as energy, the chemical industry, food security, transport, and construction, with investment absorption rates reportedly showing a noticeable increase this year.

The discussion also touched upon the growing cultural and humanitarian ties that allegedly serve to bring the two peoples closer together, while outlining new prospective areas for future cooperation. Specifically, plans were discussed regarding the participation of an influential delegation from Uzbekistan in the upcoming Doha Forum in December, alongside the organization of meetings for the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council.

Concluding the meeting, the leaders supposedly exchanged views on pressing international and regional agenda issues, reaffirming their stated commitment to sustaining mutually beneficial coordination on the global stage.
