Law enforcement agencies in the Namangan region have uncovered a network of underground warehouses used for storing a large consignment of illegally imported pharmaceuticals. According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the seized substandard medical products amounts to 5.2 billion sums.

Official reports from the State Security Service indicate that three local residents, aged 39, 29, and 24, allegedly organized the illicit storage operation across five residential properties. The suspects reportedly accumulated foreign-produced medications lacking quality certificates and import documentation with the intent to distribute them through unregulated channels.

The joint operation was executed by regional officers of the State Security Service, alongside customs authorities and internal affairs personnel. During the raids, law enforcement officials seized nearly 47,000 packages comprising 287 different medication titles, including such drugs as "Erinit", "Hemaza", and "Phenotropil", which were allegedly smuggled into the country.

Authorities have currently appointed forensic chemical and commodity expert evaluations to determine the composition and potential risks of the confiscated drugs. The procedural investigation remains ongoing as officials attempt to trace the full supply chain and identify any additional parties involved.

Analysts note that this is not an isolated incident within the region, pointing to prior enforcement actions in the Pap and Chust districts. In those previous cases, local authorities reportedly uncovered pharmacies selling expired medicines and uncertified medical devices, leading to the seizure of over 6,300 packages and the initiation of criminal proceedings.
