A notable leadership reshuffle has taken place within the government structure of Uzbekistan. In accordance with a presidential decree, Saidqahhor Kholhojayev has officially assumed the position of First Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, signaling a potential shift in economic management strategies.
Prior to this high-ranking appointment, Kholhojayev served as the Hokim (Governor) of the Chilanzar district in Tashkent, one of the capital's largest and most economically active administrative divisions. During his tenure at the local government level, he was tasked with overseeing various urban development and district-level economic initiatives.
Kholhojayev brings extensive financial and economic governance experience to his new national portfolio. Throughout his career, he has held several crucial macroeconomic positions, including serving as the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
In related administrative developments, local media previously reported a corresponding change in the capital's district leadership, noting that Hayot Inoghamov had been appointed as the new Hokim of the Chilanzar district to fill the vacancy left by Kholhojayev's promotion.
